Alta Myra Johnson Weston Obit - Milan Standard - 9/30/1948 Transcribed by Brian Sanders 10/14/2009Mrs. Alta Myra WestonAlta Myra Johnson was born in Grundy County, Mo., March 30, 1866, the daughter of Martha Maloney and Alfred Wiley Johnson. She departed this life at her home in Osgood at 7:20 pm Sept. 22, 1948, at the age of 82 years.She was married to William Barton Weston, August 10, 1884, who preceded her in death April 12, 1943. They were the parents of three children, Ursa of Galt, Mo., Orda of Lincoln, Nebr., and Faith of Denver, Colo.in 1898 she united with the Johnsontown church which latter was known as the Mt. Zion M. P. Church. in 1912 she transferred her membership to the Christian Church at Osgood and attended all services until her last illness.Besides the three children she is survived by ten grandchildren Helen McNeeley of Trenton, Opha Snapp and Vaughncile Green of Tulsa, Okla.; Bernadette Seibenborn and Buddy Weston of Galt. Colleen Irwin, Jack and Max Paul Weston, all of LosAngeles, Calif.; Barbara and Virginia Todd of Denver, Colo.; ten great grandchildren, three brothers: Aut of Osgood, John and Roy of Galt. Two brothers, Ollie and Bob, and a sister, Dona, preceded her in death.Funeral services were held at the Christian Church at Osgood at 2 o'clock, Sept 24, conducted by Rev. J.E. Todd of Trenton, assisted by the Rev. J. L. Potter of Osgood. interment was made at the Camp Ground cemetery. Pall bearers were nephewsand a grandson and included Claude Snapp, Cliff Weston, Dale Johnson, Fred Shockey, Ray Hatcher and Woodrow Johnson. Flower bearers were four great-grandsons, Jon and Jan Siebenborn, Jerry Green and Chris Snapp.Music was furnished by an Osgood quartette composed of John Todd, Jimmie Smith and Bob and Bill Todd, who sang "Shine on Maine." Bill Todd sang as a solo, "How Beautiful Heaven Must Be." Dr. J.E. Todd of Trenton, assisted by the Rev. J. L. Potter of Osgood, conductedthe rites. interment was at Camp Ground cemetery. Pall bearers were nephews and a grandson and included Claude Snapp, Cliff Weston, Dale Johnson, Fred Shockey, Ray Hatcher and Woodrow Johnson.
