Obituary  Marion NewspaperDied - At Wirt, Iowa, March 29th 1891, Mrs. Minerva M. McKibben, of pnuemonia. Mrs. McKibben was the daughter of Abel Davis, deceased, and Matilda Merritt. She was born in Marion county, Ohio, and was 43 years old at the time of her death. Six years ago the 8th of March, she was united in marriage, to Mellville McKibben ofCardington township, since which time they have lived in this county, until about two weeks ago, when they moved to Wirt, Iowa, to make their future home. Mrs. McKibben's mother accompanied them. On the way west they were all attacked with lagrippe. They unloaded their goods and took possession of their house; but on the third day, Mrs. McKibben died. Immediately they made arrangements to return to Ohio with the remains. But by this time the youngest child was so sick that it couldnot be moved, and both the children were left behind in the care of entire strangers, whilst the father and grandmother undertook the long journey alone. They arrived in Mt. Gilead on Wednesday evening and the funeral took place from theresidence of Mrs. Merritt, Thursday at 2 o'clock p.m. Mrs. McKibben was a woman of very refined feelings, unselfish, and devoted herself to the interest of others. She was very motherly, and it was a delightful service for her to minister to the wants of her two beautiful little children, a daughterfive and a son three years old.She united with the church in Marengo, Iowa, thirteen years ago, and her friends are comforted with the hope that death to her has been gain. There are many elements of peculiar sadness in this bereavement. The plans of the family have beenentirely broken up. 'Man proposes, but God disposes.' Who shall explain the mystery of this providence? in the future it will be made plain. The Savier says, 'What I do thou knowest not now, but thou shalt know hereafter.'  [2, 4
